Ballet Folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez | November 1
Founded in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández, Ballet Folklórico de México blends the music, dance and costume of Mexican folklore from pre-Colombian civilizations through the present. Their colorful performances have been described as “living museums” of Mexico’s cultural traditions. The 2018 tour features renewed productions of the company’s classic choreography.

Free Museum Day at Fine Arts Center| November 10

Visit the Fine Arts Center at Colorado College. The FAC collections include 4,000 cultural artifacts, a permanent collection of more than 20,000 pieces of art.  Artist hands-on art activities from 10 am to 2 pm in the Smith Family Gallery.

Visiting Artist Workshop: Virgil Ortiz at Fine Arts Center| November 10 – 11

Working with soft foam to create a hard look, artist/fashion designer Virgil Ortiz instructs the participants of this workshop the methods he uses to construct his amazing Aeronaut Armor. Demonstrating the designing, cutting, shaping, heat-forming, and finishing steps, Virgil will help students complete their own versions using this awesome process. No previous experience required. Ages 16-Adult
